Thank You!  We just had the ladies from St. John drop off gifts for my family and Sunday School supplies for Christ the King. This, on top of what St. John's has given us a few weeks ago. My wife and I are incredibly grateful and humbled. We will, of course, be sending a thank you card soon. But, on top of that, if there's anything I (or my family as well) could do to show our gratitude to both congregations, please let me know. We thank God for all of you, for all the assistance, and for having such strong and faithful sister congregations, the zeal everyone has for the Gospel, and the care for ministering to those in need. Thank you!

Rev. Michael McGinley, Christ the King Lutheran Church,  Spencer, IA

Thank You Dear Friends at St. John’s for remembering me with Christmas goodies, cookies, cards etc. I always appreciate this. My forgetter has been getting worse for some time, along with my energizer!! This mailing is a nice way for keeping in church. God bless you as you continue to reach out, to encourage and strengthen others! Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Henry Friedrich

Building Healthy Families: Parents, grandparents and pew buddies! Our church families are made up of many people with different roles and gifts. With your child(ren), take note of and count the many ways individuals and families are serving. Maybe you observe ushers welcoming people and handing out bulletins, musicians playing and leading our singing, acolytes and crucifers lighting candles and carrying the cross in a procession, or members of the altar guild setting up for the Lord’s Supper and caring for the altar area. And don’t forget those who clean and tend to the building, so we have a nice space to gather for worship! As a family, consider how you might serve together and ask your pastor or other church leaders how to get involved! Lutheran Family Service  www.LutheranFamilyService.org
