FOR US is our theme for Lent this year. “For us” is not simply a pithy line to use because it’s easy to repeat. It’s a confession of who God is and what He brings in giving us His Son. It helps us understand why God would send His Son to die for us. This phrase also captures much of the Reformation’s theological emphasis—Luther went from searching for a righteous God and finding only stern rebuke to seeing God in the form of a little baby and as the one who became one of us for us so that we might become like Him. Watch for our Lenten Schedule and Devotion books coming soon!

Building Healthy Families: As you find ways to share your love with family members and your special someone on Valentine’s Day this week, remember to also spend some time with your Perfect True Love. God is love (1 John 4:16). God is the author of love (1 John 4:8). His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). He demonstrated his unconditional love by sending his son, Jesus Christ, to sacrifice his life for you (Romans 5:8). Now THAT is true love! Know that LFS counselors are available to help you or someone you know through a difficult personal or relationship challenge. Call us – it’s why we’re here!
