This instruction isn’t just for young people! How are we - young and old people alike – doing at taking care of our physical bodies where God’s Spirit dwells? No matter your age, do something this week that will make your body stronger and healthier. Choose a healthy snack, drink less, or go for a walk and invite a friend or neighbor to join you. Shared activity makes it more fun and creates an open door for conversation about wellness, including spiritual wellness. This week, honor God with your body…no matter how many years it’s been around! Lutheran Family Service www.LutheranFamilyService.org

Building Healthy Families: From a recent CDC report on Alzheimer’s Disease: Significant increases in Alzheimer’s deaths coupled with an increase in the number of persons with Alzheimer’s dying at home have likely added to the burden on family members or other unpaid caregivers. Caregivers might benefit from interventions such as education, respite care, and case management that can lessen the potential burden of caregiving and can improve the care received by persons with Alzheimer’s. You think?? Anyone who has loved and cared for a family member suffering from this terrible disease would say Amen to that obvious conclusion. Who in your world is caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease? They likely won’t ask you for help but help anyway. Do yard work, clean leaves out of the gutters, prepare food, or give them the gift of time away while you sit with their loved one. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
