FOR US is our theme for Lent this year. “For Us” is not simply a pithy line to use because it’s easy to repeat. It’s a confession of who God is and what He brings in giving us His Son. It helps us understand why God would send His Son to die for us. This phrase also captures much of the Reformation’s theological emphasis—Luther went from searching for a righteous God and finding only stern rebuke to seeing God in the form of a little baby and as the one who became one of us for us so that we might become like Him.
Midweek Lenten Change - The Wednesday March 25th Midweek Lenten Service will not be held here at Burt as Pastor Dose will be in California. Trinity, Algona will have their Midweek Lenten Service and you are encouraged to attend there for that evening at 6:00 p.m.

Building Healthy Families: Spring – the season of renewal and new life – officially arrives this week on Friday at 10:46 am. Though you can’t dig in the garden quite yet, take some time this week to take someone you care about (or just go yourself!) to a local greenhouse where you can smell, see, touch, feel, and experience the presence of new life all around you. As you do, be mindful of the new life that stirs within you and of Paul’s inspired words written for you in Romans 6: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Call us for help with any of life’s challenges you’re experiencing along the journey. We’re here to help! Learn more about the many supports available at www.LutheranFamilyService.org Lutheran Family Service
