Did You KnowButterflies taste with their feet. Starfish don't have brains. Elephants are the only mammals that can't jump. A cockroach will live nine days without it's head, before it starves to death. All of God’s creatures are amazing but the greatest of all is…you! But unlike animals, we are created in God’s image. (Genesis 1:27) Each human person from the moment of conception is uniquely created by God, in His image and known by him individually. Hard to comprehend? Yes. But true? Yes! I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 139:14) Lutheran Family Service

Building Healthy Families - Do you think the values and morals of Americans seem to be declining? If so, you are joined by 81% of people recently surveyed by the Barna Group and the American Bible Society who agree. Their research also indicates that most people blame this trend on movies, music and TV, not on a documented decrease in Bible reading. At every opportunity, lead your family to read and study the Word, allowing God to teach and direct your choices and behaviors as He promises to do in Isaiah 48:17: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” Lutheran Family Service

Stewardship Corner - Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the faith that God creates in us, we understand that God is the giver, and we are the receivers.  We come to the realization, as Martin Luther did, that we are all “beggars before God.”  With joy we eagerly receive all that God has to give us because receiving is an essential part of our relationship with God.  Only after we have found joy in receiving are we able to respond by giving back freely and with proper motivation.  We love others because God first loved us (1 John 4:19).  We give whatever we can because God gave even His own Son to die for us (John 3:16).

Building Healthy Families Life can be hard and relationships can cause pain. When someone hurts you, you may find that it is difficult to trust again. God does not abandon you in the pain, but promises to stay with you. Through all of life's challenges, God never breaks His promise to you: "I will never leave you, I will never forsake you." (Hebrews 13) He also puts people in place to be there, including LFS counselors who are available to help with troubled relationships and the pain they leave behind
