Quarterly Council Meeting will be held today following the service and the Voter’s Meeting will be held next Sunday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. (Remember church that day will be at 10:00 a.m.).

Time Change:  On Sunday, July 20th St. John’s will have church at 10:00 a.m. This is due to only one pastor between both churches.  Trinity’s Service will be at  8:30 a.m. Pastor Nelson and Jade will be with students at the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans.

 

Note Cards are now available for purchase  near the card rack!  Check them out! Free will donation.  Thanks to Peggy Schadendorf for making these for us.  

 

As Sunday School preparations continue for next year, we find we’ll be needing a few more Teachers. If interested or you have questions, reach out to Karla Schutter.

CCamp Okoboji News

·         The Camp Okoboji Auxiliary held their annual Quilt Auction, through the nearly 100 quilts, craft tables, and free-will lunch, more than $12,800 was raised to support Dining Hall Kitchen upgrades. What an immense blessing those funds will be and I am so grateful to all who made and/or donated quilts, helped at the auction, and the bidders and buyers! 

·         Sunday Worship Services are held each Sunday at Camp Okoboji. List of Chaplin Pastors serving each week is posted on the ramp bulletin board.

Trinity - Summer Worship Schedule: During the summer months there will only be one Sunday service at 9:00 a.m. The Saturday service will continue at 5:00 p.m. except for holiday or wedding weekends.

 

IDW Administrative Assistant Sue Light will be retiring at the end of July after 46 years of service.  If you know Sue and would like to send her a note wishing her well in her retirement and thank her for her faithful service to our district, you can do so by sending it to Sue Light, 409 Kenyon Rd Suite B, For Dodge, Iowa 50501.

“Epic Australian Adventure” VBS will be July 20–24 this year at Trinity. Find Registration & more info at trinityalgona.org/VBS. VBS is for students who have completed 4-year old preschool through 4th grade. Supper begins at 5:30 p.m. with closing around 7:30 p.m.. Contact Dee Dee Esser (320-0250) with questions.

 

COMMUNITY NEWS

Burt Library - LEGO CHALLENGE! This summer we will be having “themed” Lego building. Each week there will be a new theme for kids (or adults) to stop in and build something. Creations will be on display for others to enjoy!!

Pledge to Pray for Our Troops - On the back table are cards for you to pick up and pray each day Psalm 91 for all Our troops and Our Nation.  This is a chance to Pray with other Christians as we Band together to remember those who are serving. Take a couple and pass them on to others!!

Open House: On July 15th will be the ribbon cutting for Pottsie's Cafe! Come at 10 a.m. to welcome Pottsie's to Burt and have some coffee and cookies!!
