Thank You! Kids of the Kingdom Preschool would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported our soup dinner.  We are so blessed to have the support of such wonderful people who value the Christian education we can provide.  Your support makes that possible.  Also, thank you to everyone who provided rolls for us.  God bless all of you!

Thank You for the cards, gifts, and visits during my stay at the hospital and during my therapy at the Manor Care Center. A special thanks to Pastor Cowell for his many visits.  It helped me to “get back on my feet.”    Red Madsen

Algona Circuit Reformation Celebration - You are invited to the Algona Circuit Reformation Celebration.  The celebration will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 520 N. Garfield St. in Algona this afternoon (October 28th ).  We'll begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Divine Service, followed by German-style food and fellowship at 5:30 p.m.  There will be a free-will offering to offset the cost of the meal.  Our guest preacher will be Pastor Henry Witte, pastor and missionary to the Hispanic population in the Sioux City area.  Our offering during the service will go toward his ministry efforts.

Lessons on the Liturgy – Article IV of the Augsburg Confession

Article IV of the Augsburg Confession has been called the chief doctrine of the Lutheran Church and the doctrine on which the Church either stands or falls.  This article of faith confesses that our righteousness before God is won for us by Christ alone and is obtained by us through faith alone. Here is Ac IV:

[Our Churches, with common consent,] also teach that men cannot be justified before God by their own strength,

merits, or works, but are freely justified for Christ's sake, through faith, when they believe that they are received

into favor, and that their sins are forgiven for Christ's sake, who, by His death, has made satisfaction for our sins.

This faith God imputes for righteousness in His sight. Rom. 3 and 4.

Lutheran Family Services Ballot for Election of Board of Directors:  We have received the ballot for the church to vote on two candidates for LFS Directors: Cara Heiden, Trinity Des Moines or Holly Bierschenk, St. John’s Newhall.   We also have the option to write in a name.  If you would or know of someone who would like to be put on the ballot, please let Rosann know today.

Adult Bible Class – Join us next week as we consider from Scripture the blessings that the examples of the saints who have gone before us can have on our faith.
