Voter’s Meeting will be held immediately following the service today. We will take a vote on the Ministry Partnership Proposal with Trinity for the calling of a new Pastor.

 

Kids of the Preschool will be having their Soup Luncheon Fund Raiser is being held today from 11a.m. -1 p.m.  Free will donation. Once again serving chili and chicken noodle soup and a new additional soup!  Please come and support your preschool and get warmed by our wonderful soup. Bring your containers for carry outs if you aren’t able to come back after church.  Hope you can come!  Preschool Board & Staff

 

Kids of the Kingdom Preschool will be hosting a Bake Sale Fundraiser at the Lion’s Club Omelet Breakfast on the 23^rd of October.  Donations of food would be greatly appreciated.  This has always been a great fundraiser for the preschool.  Thanks for your support!  Jessie Parsons, Teacher

Building Healthy Families - From the newborn infant to the hospice patient at death’s door and all of us in between, the physical touch of another person is critically important. Even when they receive nourishment, infants who aren’t touched die from Failure to Thrive Syndrome. For adults, physical touch can reduce anxiety and lower blood pressure. In today’s crazy, fearful and politically correct world, we avoid the touch we need more than ever before. Burt Trick or Treat Night will be Monday night, October 31^st from 5-7 p.m.

 

Burt Lion’s Club Omelet Breakfast will be held on Sunday October 23^rd 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Burt Activity Complex. 

 

Retirement Party for Dorothy Jahnke from the Burt Council will be held at the Burt Community Center today (Oct. 16^th ) from 1-5 p.m.

 

Volunteers - Camp Okoboji is looking for volunteers to help the Laborers For Christ in building and erecting the walls of the DISCOVER Bldg. We will be needing this help starting Monday Oct 17, 2016 @ 8 a.m.. Lunch and break snacks will be provided. Please call the Camp Office 712-337-3325 or email camp@campokoboji.org to let us know what day or days you will be coming.  Thank you in advance.

 

Autumn Fest – Burt Summer Celebration Committee will be hosting an Autumn Celebration on Saturday, October 29^th from 4-6 p.m. Join us for vegetable beef stew made over an open fire and be sure to buy your $5.00 ticket for Chicken Chip Bingo.  There will also be hayrides around town and Pumpkin painting.  Help us keep our Summer Celebration a free day!  This will be held at the Burt Community Center.

 

 

“Wildflowers of the Prairie” program at the Burt Library beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 24. Danuta Hutchins will teach about our native prairie wildflowers, where they grow, their blooming times and medicinal food uses they have served during the times of early pioneers.
