Special Thanks to Pastor Dave Simonson for leading our service this morning.

New Baby - Pastor Briton and Jade were blessed with a baby daughter, Elora Fern born on April 28.  Keep baby and parents in your prayers as Elora was taken to Mercy in Des Moines with complications, but was doing better by the time of this announcement!!

Services at St. John’s will have a few changes for a couple weeks.  Pastor Simonson will do the service here and Trinity today and Pastor Dose will be doing both churches on May 10th. There will be no Adult Bible Class on both those Sundays.  Sunday School will be meeting as usual on both Sundays..

Swaddling Clothes: A free will donation will be taken today through Sunday, May 17 for this mission work at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. St Paul’s assembles a collection of items associated with pregnancy and motherhood etc.. The second Saturday of each month St. Paul hosts a “shopping day” where you can survey our collection and take whatever you need. The Sunday School and Lenten Wednesday service offering will also be used for this project to help purchase items for this worthwhile cause.  *More information is on the back table about this mission work! “The mission of the Swaddling Clothes is to share the mercy of Christ with our neighbors through the gifts of clothing, food, friendship, and the forgiving Word of God.”

Thank You! Jade and I were overwhelmed by the love and support from our congregations during the baby shower. Thank you to everyone who helped plan, attended, and continues to pray for us. We are so excited for everyone to meet our new child! Pastor, Jade, and Autumn Nelson

Notice to All - Make sure if you are one of the last people out of the church, to check the whole church to see if all the lights have been shut off!!  Also, be sure that doors are locked!     -Trustees

Hospitalized?  If you or a loved one are hospitalized and would like a pastoral visit, please let us know!

Building Healthy Families:Would your mom or dad make it into a “Perfect Parent Hall of Fame”? Probably not—because let’s be honest, there’s no such thing as a perfect earthly parent. But imperfect, amazing Christian parents for whom we’re eternally thankful? Absolutely! Open your hymn book today and revisit Luther’s explanation of the 4th commandment. How are you doing with this one? Where does it challenge you—or gently nudge you to do something different? Prayerfully consider how you might better apply this instruction. In doing so, may you discover a deeper joy in following God’s path – honoring, loving, respecting, and appreciating the imperfect parents who are part of your story. www.LutheranFamilyService.org Lutheran Family Service
