Building Healthy Families: What are some of your best childhood memories? Psychologist Mary Pipher says there are three things that most people usually remember with great happiness from childhood -- time spent outdoors, vacations and family meals. During these long summer days, spend time with your children or grandchildren outdoors. Take some time off work…plan a picnic…explore a new park or hiking trail. Let your children or grandchildren help choose the spot. You don’t have to go far from home or spend a lot of money to create forever memories! www.LutheranFamilyService.org Lutheran Family Service

Stewardship Corner

July 5, 2026 – Proper 9 (Pentecost 6)
Scripture: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Stewardship Sentence: Receiving Christ’s rest, we are freed from worry and give generously, trusting in His abundant grace.

Is your Light Shining?

Jesus, the true light, told us, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).  It is His light within us being reflected that allows us to carry out His command: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father Who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).  We are called to keep the light that God gives us burning brightly and shining for the entire world to see.  “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house” (Matthew 5:15).  Nourished through Word and Sacrament, we can be faithful reflections of God’s light.

Prayer: Dear God, Father almighty, Your light gives light to a dark world.  May Your light within me bring light  to those around me.  In Jesus’ precious name I pray.
