Call Accepted - The Lord has answered our prayers and will be sending us a Senior Pastor to lead St. John’s and Trinity. Pastor Ben Dose has accepted the call to be our Partnership Pastor. Keep Pastor Dose and his family in your prayers as they transition to be our Pastor in early June.
Quarterly Council Meeting will be held today following the service. The Voter’s Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 21.
Sound System - President Jeff Schutjer will be filling the congregation in on the progress of the sound system following the service today.
Adult Class resumes the study of Exodus May 5.
(This will be the topic when Pastor Nelson is teaching.) Pastor Dave Simonson will be teaching the class the next two Sundays, April 21 and 28.
Birthday Card Shower is being held for Don Reimers 90th Birthday on Monday, April 15th. Birthday wishes can reach him at Don Reimers, PO Box 182, Burt, Iowa 50522.
The new Children’s Altar Dedication was held last Sunday during the service. This altar is a gift to St. John’s in loving memory of Alfred Schadendorf from Peggy and family. Special thanks to Vern Koestler who built the altar. Please be sure to go to the Sunday School/Preschool area in the basement to see it.
Thank You to all children and parents who came and participated in our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. A huge thank you to those who helped Pastor Briton and Jade with the event and to those who so graciously furnished bars for the day. This was a wonderful Outreach to the Burt Community and was attended by many. Also, let's not forget to thank the ladies of the coloring club at the Burt Library for filling all those many Easter Eggs!!
Special Thanks to all who furnished flowers for our Easter service. If you wish to enjoy them at home, please feel free to take them with you after the service. -Vickie Madsen

TLC Quilters - Don’t forget about the TLC Quilter’s “giving pew” by the east doors of St. John’s. Feel free to take and give away as many quilts and bears as you’d like!
· Old Tattered Quilts Needed! Well-loved quilts can be repurposed into prayer hearts to provide comfort for others.
· Old Denim Jeans? We are in need of old denim jeans (any color & any condition) to make into quilts. Bring them to the church office or stop by the basement on Tuesdays or Thursdays to see them in action!
· Flat Sheets are needed by the TLC Quilters.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Benefit for Jessica Reutzel (26) will be held today, Sunday April 14 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm in the old gym of the Burt Complex. Jessica was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in January. There will be a free will meal donation from 12 noon until the food is gone, a silent auction and bake sale from 12-2:00 p.m. and a live auction at 1:00 p.m.
