Call Process - St. John’s and Trinity Congregations voted to extend a call to Pastor Benjamin Dose to be our Partnership Senior Pastor. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Schutjer.

 

Midweek Lenten Services this week will be held only at Trinity on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m.   Midweek classes will follow at 6:30 p.m.

         

Lent/Easter Partnership Schedule - Copies of the Lent and Easter services schedule are available on the back table.  Feel free to take as many as you want and share with others!!

 

Advent Devotionals entitled “Be Gracious To Me” the series we are doing for Lent are available in the back on the table. Feel free to pick one up!!

 

St. John’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m.  There is a sign-up sheet in the back for volunteers to provide bars/cookies for this event. This will be for the community of Burt. If you can help that day, please talk to Pastor Nelson.

 

Greeters - Copies of the yearly Greeters list is in the rack on the east wall in back.  If you cannot Greet on that given Sunday, change with someone else and let the church office know who and when.

 

2023 Annual Reports are now on the east wall table.  Please take one per family!  

 

April-June Portals of Prayer are available in the back along the east wall.

 

Schedule of Services for Holy Week at Burt - 

   Maundy Thursday 6:00 p.m.

   Good Friday Service - 6:00 p.m.

   Easter Breakfast - 8-9:15 a.m.

   Easter Day Divine Service - 9:30 a.m.  

           No Adult Class or Sunday School

Hospitalized?  If you or a loved one are hospitalized and would like a pastoral visit, please let us know! Pastors are not automatically notified when members are hospitalized.

 

Crafts for Sale - You may purchase several of Lavonne’s crafts in the church library. Please give your money to the church office.  The items are marked.  Monies for these items will go to purchasing more animals for Lutheran World Relief with the offering for Wednesday night Lenten Services and special donations to the project.

 

SYNOD, DISTRICT & PARTNERSHIP NEWS

 

At Trinity - During Lent, there will only be 1 Sunday Service at 9:00 a.m. with Sunday School/Adult Bible Study to follow at 10:15 a.m. There will be NO Saturday Evening Service during Lent.

 

TLC Quilters - Don’t forget about the TLC Quilter’s “giving pew” by the east doors of St. John’s.  Feel free to take and give away as many quilts and bears as you’d like!  

·         Old Tattered Quilts Needed! Well-loved quilts can be repurposed into prayer hearts to provide comfort for others. 

·         Old Denim Jeans? We are in need of old denim jeans (any color & any condition) to make into quilts. Bring them to the church office or stop by the basement on Tuesdays or Thursdays to see them in action!    

·          Flat Sheets are needed by the TLC Quilters.

Building Healthy Families: Spring - a season of renewal and new life - officially arrives on Tuesday, March 19 at 10:06 pm! Though you can’t dig in the garden quite yet, take some time this week to take your family (or just yourself!) to your local greenhouse where you can smell, see, touch, feel and experience the new life all around you. As you do, be mindful of the new life that stirs within you and of Paul’s inspired words written for you in Romans 6: “You were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, you too may live a new life.” (Pssst…. Burt Lions Club French Toast Breakfast will be held Sunday, April 7 at the Burt Activity Complex. With serving from 1-12:30 p.m.
