May 14, 2017

Coffee and Muffins-  Stay for fellowship time following the service today in the back to celebrate with our 2017 graduates.

Thanks and Praise - The Lord has blessed St. John’s and Trinity with a new Pastor. Pastor Elect Thomas Cowell was assigned from the Fort Wayne Seminary. Let’s welcome him and his wife Hannah with individual cards of congratulations. There address is: Thomas and Hannah Cowell and daughter, Penelope at 5543 North Clinton St., Fort Wayne, Indiana  46825.   As we continue to move forward and get more information we will pass it along to you. Also, there is a card in the back of the church for all members to sign.   We will send that to Thomas and Hannah before his graduation.  Please stop and sign it.

Kitchen Improvement Festival will be Tuesday, May 16th at 1:30 p.m.  Any church women who would like to help are encouraged to come.  Many hands make light work.  Lunch will be provided!

Open House:  The family of 2017 Graduate Jewel Reimers would like to invite all members of St. John’s to her open house,  Sunday May 28th from 2-6 pm at the Maschoff Barn Located at 219 170th Ave. Ceylon, MN. Please join us in celebrating with Jewel as she prepares for her next journey in life.  Thank you for all the support you have shown through the years ~ we look forward to seeing how her future unfolds ~ God’s blessings always.    The Pastor Reimers Family.

Come and Go Baby Shower for Drew and Sierra Rasmussen who are having twins (boy and girl) will be held on Saturday, May 27th from 9-11 a.m. at the Rasmussen Farm 2903 150th Ave. Burt.   A small request to bring also a book new or slightly used instead of a card with a message from you inside.

Building Healthy Families:  God gave woman a special gift--the ability to carry new life within her own body. Psalm 139:13 says, “You knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” It is good that we have a day set aside specifically in honor of motherhood. In a world where human life in the womb is at risk of being aborted, we can encourage girls and young women, sharing with them the immense joy and honor of being a mother. To all our moms…thanks for who you are and all you do. Happy Mother’s Day! Lutheran Family Service

Cornbelt Barbershop Chorus will be performing at the Burt Community Center on Thursday, May 25th at 7:00 p.m.   This is sponsored by the Burt Library.   Everyone welcome!
