Building Healthy Families: Research conducted recently with college age students in the Midwest found that most of them reported having an important relationship with grandparents or significant elders who influence their values, goals, and life choices and give them a sense of self, roots, and tradition. Grandparents and older members of our church family, do you realize how important you are? Make sure the young adults in your family and congregation who have gone off to college or are returning to high school after summer break continue to hear from you. Now, more than ever, they need your love and support – even if they’re not asking for it! www.LutheranFamilyService.org Lutheran Family Service

August 30, 2026 – Proper 17 (Pentecost 14)

Scripture: “Whoever would be great among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26
Stewardship Sentence: In humility and service, we steward our gifts not for ourselves but for the good of others and the glory of God.

Stewardship Corner

God is pleased when we give sacrificially.  “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God” (Hebrews 13:16).   Paul thanked the Philippians for their sacrificial gifts.  “I have received full payment and more; I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God” (Philippians 4:18).  Sacrificial giving represents the depth of our love for the Lord.  It shows what we treasure the most, and that is Jesus.

Grief Support - Hospice of the Heartland  is offering a Grief Support Group for individuals who are coping with the loss of a loved one. The group provides a safe, compassionate environment where participants can process their emotions, share their experiences, and find support from others who understand the challenges of grief. The group will meet every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from September 9, 2026, through October 14, 2026, at Kossuth Regional Health Center, Conference Room C.

Note:  Flyers are on the back table.
