LYF Service Project - St John’s Lutheran Youth will be picking up brush as a service project. If you are interested in having them assist you, please sign up at City Hall (515-924-3618 or 515-320-5782) or the Library (515-924-3680 or (515-320-0501 This will be November 3rd from 11-1 only. THIS IS A SERVICE PROJECT NOT A CITY EVENT. Please make sure this is brush and not whole trees or very large branches.

Pastoral Schedule Update: Pastor Dose will be taking Fridays as his day off and will be spending Thursday mornings in Burt. Pastor Nelson will be taking Mondays as his day off and will be spending Tuesday mornings in Burt.
Burt Churches Trunk or Treat is being organized for Burt Halloween night, October 31st. from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We are asking for people to do a Trunk that night, please let Pastor Nelson know if you will do one.
- A sign-up sheet is in the back for donations of individual bars.
Looking Ahead - The Budget Meeting and Nominating Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 10 after church. The Congregational Voter’s Meeting will then be on December 8 following church to approve these items.

Women’s Bible Study at Trinity begins Monday, September 16 at 7 & 9:30 a.m. We’ll study ESTHER, TRUSTING GOD’S PLAN, part of the Women of the Bible study series. Please contact Jane (320-0490) or Cheryl (320-1288) if you’d like to join us……we’d love to study Esther with you!

· Craft Night - Christmas Wreath with Deco Mesh will be held on November 4th at 5:30 p.m. Doing a 14 inch wreath - 1 Color-$15 - 2 Color - $20 Come to Library to fill out forms for the colors.
· Homestead Assisted Living - Jessica from Homestead will be at the Burt Library giving a presentation and answering any questions you may have about assisted living on Monday, November 11 at 2 p.m.
Fall Harvest Festival at Lone Rock Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 3 with serving a Traditional Turkey Meal 10:30-12:30 p.m.
Soup Dinner - Lakota Ambulance is holding their Annual Soup Dinner on Sunday, November 3 from 10am-1pm at Lakota Fire Station. Serving Chili and Chicken Noodle So0up, Grilled Cheese or Egg Salad Sandwiches and Bars Free Will Donation
The Emmetsburg Riviera Theatre is continuing its Christian Inspirational Movies each Sunday through Easter.. These movies included Sight and Sound Productions of Moses, Noah, Joseph, Queen Esther, Samson and David. A list of the movies coming up and the dates
are on the back table.
Building Healthy Families:: Parents, grandparents and pew buddies! Throughout the week ahead, prepare for the pew! Take a few minutes each day to look up and read the Bible lessons for the following week (many congregations print them in the bulletin, maybe even on this page; if not, just ask!). Note key figures, actions, places and how God is working. Find and mark the account in a picture or story Bible and bring that along in your church bag!
