Thank You to all who attended the church picnic last Sunday.  Was good to get together as a church family for fun and fellowship.  Thanks to Barb Thilges, Brenda Schutjer and Karla Schutter for organizing the event!! 

A Hand Quilted “Dresden Pattern” Queen Size (84”x 96”) Quilt was donated by the St. John’s Quilting Ladies for a fundraiser to St. John’s.  You will have a chance to bid on it for several weeks.  The proceeds earned from this fundraiser will help with the expense of the new sound system. This item was made many years ago by Pat Eimers, Eunice Meyer, Bev Skadburg, Betty Roed, Connie Espe, Linda Kerkove, Marge Lavrenz and Cardene Parsons.  Quilt is on the ladder rack on the east wall.  

Quilt Bidding has begun!  

• Put your silent bid in the container with your name. 

Each week we will pull the high bid and announce it the following week. You may up that bid and bid again for the next week.  We will continue this for several weeks.

Pastoral Schedule Update: Pastor Dose will be taking Fridays as his day off and will be spending Thursday mornings in Burt. Pastor Nelson will be taking Mondays as his day off and will be spending Tuesday mornings in Burt.

·         Return to Traditional Sunday worship schedule 8:00 & 10:30 AM 

·         (Communion 1st & 3rd Sundays at 8 AM & 5 p.m.; 2nd & 4th Sundays at 10:30 a.m..)

TLC Quilters - Don’t forget about the TLC Quilter’s “giving pew” by the east doors of St. John’s.  Feel free to take and give away as many quilts and bears as you’d like!  New quilts are available now!

 

Women’s Bible Study at Trinity begins Monday, September 16 at 7 & 9:30 a.m.  We’ll study ESTHER, TRUSTING GOD’S PLAN, part of the Women of the Bible study series. “God masterfully orchestrates & weaves together every detail of our lives & this universe.” Join us as we explore the subject of God’s providence in our lives. Esther 4:14 – “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Please contact Jane (320-0490) or Cheryl (320-1288) if you’d like to join us……we’d love to study Esther with you!

It is usually true that mood follows message. How we feel emotionally results from how we think about what is happening. The next time you are having a difficult day, stop and check your thoughts. Listen to what you are telling yourself. Challenge and then replace negative, untrue self-statements with the truth. (Hint: look for truths from the author of life Himself in your Bible).
