Special Collection for Flood Relief – St. John’s is collecting a door offering July 7 – July 21 to assist in flood relief efforts. Donations may be placed in the offering plate in the back or brought to the church office. Funds will be sent to Iowa District West for disbursement. Please refer to the flier on display for additional ways to pray, give, or serve!

Pastoral Schedule Update: Pastor Dose will be taking Fridays as his day off and will be spending Thursday mornings in Burt. Pastor Nelson will be taking Mondays as his day off and will be spending Tuesday mornings in Burt.

Trinity Worship Schedule Update: The Trinity Elders have determined that during the summer months there will only be one Sunday service at 9:00 AM. The Saturday service will continue unless there is a holiday or wedding on those weekends.

 

On Trinity's Blog you can find various materials from our partnership pastors including the weekly radio program "Lift High the Cross," Lift High the Cross has transitioned into a walk through one of the readings that is not being preached on Sunday. Enrich your Sunday worship by gaining insight across God's Word! Also on the blog will be newspaper articles and other various thoughts from our pastors. trinityalgona.org/blog

TLC Quilters - Don’t forget about the TLC Quilter’s “giving pew” by the east doors of St. John’s.  Feel free to take and give away as many quilts and bears as you’d like!  

 

Building Healthy Families: Adoption and Christianity go together like apple pie and ice cream! We just can’t tell the story of God’s love for humankind without talking about adoption. Where do we see adoption in the Bible? Moses was adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter, Bithiah. Samuel was adopted by Eli. Mordecai adopted Esther. Joseph adopted Jesus. God adopted us! Adoption is clearly part of God’s plan. He uses adoption to save lives here on earth and as a pathway into His eternal family. Christian adoptions bring children into God’s kingdom, and more than 114,000 children are now waiting for a family through adoption in the U.S. What can you and your congregation do to encourage and support Christian adoption? COMMUNITY NEWS

 

Burt Summer Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 13th.  Schedule:  Coffee/Rolls at the complex at 8:00 a.m. and also Garage Sales around town; Parade at 10:30 a.m.; Pork Patty Meal at the Complex at 11:30 a.m.; Music by Denise Shipler at 12:30 p.m. Inflatable and activities all afternoon; Pedal Pull at 2:00 p.m. with the Toilet Toss at 4:00 p.m.  Night activities with food trucks, Music with Street Dance at 8:00 p.m. and the Burt Fire Dept. Fireworks at 10:00 p.m. to end the day.  Come enjoy some or all events!!  Contact: Beth Borchardt for more information.

Celebrating 125 Years of Ministry at Immanuel Lutheran in Titonka on July 13-14 with games, Malek’s Fishermen Band and a pork loin and sweetcorn meal on Saturday with a worship service of celebration and fellowship on Sunday.  Details on the poster displayed on the ramp bulletin board.

Stewardship Corner - God calls us to be His stewards.  He not only calls us, but He equips us to be faithful stewards.  In our stewardship journey, God transforms us from owners to stewards, from kingdom building to submission, from bondage to freedom, and from obligation to joyful obedience.  In our journey as God’s stewards, we seek to understand the heart and nature of God in Whose image we have been created.  Through the work of the Holy Spirit, we understand our identity and role as God’ stewards, and we become aware of our purpose.  May God help us all hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23).
