Palm Sunday
Collect of the Day – Almighty and everlasting God, You sent Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to take upon Himself our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross. Mercifully grant that we may follow the example of His great humility and patience and be made partakers of His resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Quarterly Council Meeting will be held today following the service. Voter’s Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 28th.

Pray for our Legislatures – On Tuesday Lutheran Family Service organized nearly fifty LCMS pastors from Iowa Districts West and East at the Iowa capitol to show our support for God's love of all people from conception to natural death. We met with our ten LCMS legislatures and thanked and encouraged them in their support of pro-life legislation. We then had the opportunity to lobby our local representatives on your behalf and share with them our Synod's support of anti-abortion and anti-physician assisted suicide legislation. Please pick up the LFS flier on the back table and pray for our ten LCMS legislatures by name, as well as our local senator Dennis Guth and representative Tedd Gassman, that God direct them to serve in their vocations according to His will and to His glory.
In-Gathering Outreach – We are asking the congregation to help with a project for the homeless. We are collecting the following items; children’s colored socks and underwear (new) and men’s colored new socks, briefs or boxer shorts. You can bring these items to the church and place them the blue basket provided in the back. These items will be taken to Zion Lutheran in LuVerne on April 25th to the LWML Rally. Contact Bev Skadburg with any questions.

Lessons on the Liturgy – The Easter Triduum
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday are all part of a single liturgy called the Easter Triduum, or the Paschal Triduum. We begin the Easter Triduum with the Invocation (“In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”) on Maundy Thursday and end with the Benediction (“The Lord bless you and keep you…”) on the Easter Vigil. This liturgy is of great comfort to us because it reminds us that Christ’s Holy Supper is never without the power of His death, and His death is never without the power of His resurrection.
