Portals of Prayer - The October-December edition of the Portals of Prayer are now on the table in the back.
Two First Aid Kits have been purchased for the church. One will be placed on the basement kitchen counter by the small window on the west side. The other will be up in the main part of the church in the closet next to the entry door to the balcony. We will try these 2 spots for now. If someone has a better place to put them, let the office know so we can notify all members in case they need to use them.
Care Packages! - We are looking for donations to send to our troops, Aly and Christian Bierstedt and Brandon Hoover. On the back table is a list of ideas if you would like to contribute. Contact Jessie Parsons or Kelly Fitzgerald, LYF Youth Leaders

We have all been disappointed! The question is, how do we deal with disappointment with grace and how do we continue to trust the Lord when our longings remain unfulfilled? September 22 & 29 we will be watching ESTHER (our topic last year). If you are unsure, please join us for the Esther DVD and see what you think. The ELIZABETH study books will be available to look at then. Please contact Jane (320-0490) or Cheryl (320-1288) if you’d like to join us……we’d love to study Elizabeth with you!
Building Healthy Families: A recent CDC report on Alzheimer’s Disease noted that caregivers experience a significant level of burnout. It also noted that caregivers benefited from receiving education, respite care, and support. These lessen the burden of caregiving and improve the care received by their loved one. Anyone who has loved and cared for a family member suffering from this terrible disease would say Amen to that obvious conclusion. Who has God put in your world cares for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease? They likely won’t ask you for help…but help anyway! Take the initiative to do yard work, clean leaves out of the gutter, prepare food, or give them the gift of time away while you sit with their loved one. Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 Lutheran Family Service www.LutheranFamilyService.org
