Congratulations to Pastor and Sarah on the birth of a daughter, Lydia Grace born on Monday, April 4^th 10 lbs. 4 oz and 20 inches.  Baptism for Lydia Grace will be today during the service.   Sponsors for her are Lance and Elizabeth Peterson.

 

The Quarterly Council Meetings will be held now after church on Sunday’s.  The 2^nd Quarter Council Meeting will be today (April 10^th) following the service and the Voter’s Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 17^th. Copies of the Minutes of the January Council and Voter’s Meetings are on the table by the east wall.

 

A Farewell Luncheon for Pastor, Sarah and family will be held on Sunday, April 17^th following the service and Voter’s Meeting. A light lunch will be served in the church basement.  Pastor’s last Sunday of preaching at St. John’s will be May 1^st.   Everyone is welcome!

 

Elders Meeting has been changed Friday, April 29^th at 7:00 p.m.  Let Pastor know if this does not work for you.

 

The Spring Northeast LWML Zone Rally will be held on April 21^th at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Garner, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

 

Building Healthy Families – Husbands, listen up! Did you know that 90% of good communication is listening, not talking? When your wife is talking to you, stop what you are doing, turn toward her, and look at her face. Communicate the message that you are interested in and care about what she is saying. Bronze Star Award:  Jordan Blocker is working on her Bronze Award with her Girl Scout troop.  For their community service project they have decided to help animals. One of the things they are doing is collecting socks to make into cat toys for animals at the local shelters. A box has been placed in the back of the church for you to bring socks for this project.

“Barbershop of Horrors” – The Algona Cornbelt Barbershop Chorus will do the production “Barbershop of Horrors” on Saturday, April 16^th at the former O.B. Laing Middle School in Algona at 1:30 p.m.; Humboldt High School Auditorium on Friday 15^th at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday 16^th at 7:30 p.m. Emmetsburg High School Auditorium.

Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Support Group will be held April 14^th from 4 to 5 p.m. at Van Buren Terrace, in Algona.
