HEARTFELT THANK YOU!  The family of Roy Roed would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone for the food, cards, words of kindness and the many prayers during Roy’s passing.  A special thank you to Pastor Peterson for the comforting service and all the workers, men and women who served and set up the funeral luncheon. REQUEST – Thank you to all who have responded to the mailing lists for the Centennial Celebration.  We are making some progress but have a ways to go.  Please pick up an address form at the back of the church, complete and if possible include e-mail addresses as this will save postage when we mail the invitations. Give us addresses of your former members of St. John’s.  This includes former family and friends that were baptized, confirmed or married here at St. John’s.  Forms may be placed back in the box or dropped off at the church office. OUTREACH EVENT –Outreach Resource and Training Event will be held on November 5^th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Pastor Peterson will be heading up the event and will be leading a break-out session.  Cost: $15 per individual or $30 per family.  Registration is due November 1 on Tuesday and you can do that by contacting Pastor or online at www.idwlcms.org/outreach or call Jill at 515-576-7666.  (Info also on insert in today’s bulletin)

OMELET BREAKFAST is being held on Sunday, November 6^th at the Burt Activity Complex from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.   Free Will Donation   Sponsored by the Burt Lions Club

 

TURKEY DINNER – The Traditional Turkey Meal with Desserts will be served at the Lone Rock Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 10:30 -1:00 p.m. Free Will Donation with 100% going to Kossuth County Care Team and Kossuth County Food Pantry.

 

HALLOWEEN PARTY – Exceptional Opportunities Annual Community Halloween Party will be on Monday, October 31^st from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the basement of the West and East Homes, 310- Wisconsin St. Light suppoer will be served. Games for 1-11 year old children. Follow the eerie path!!

 

WALKING SEASON has started at the Burt Activity Complex and is open from 7:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday for walking. Please stop ;by City hall to pay the fee and fill out the registration form. $35.00 per person .
