SOUP LUNCHEON - Kids of the Kingdom Preschool is holding their annual soup luncheon fundraiser today from 11a.m. to 1p.m. in the church basement. You are invited to join us for delicious chili and chicken noodle soup and also help support the preschool in providing a Christian environment for the students early education years.

REQUEST - The Mailing Committee for the Centennial Celebration requests your help for addresses of your relatives or friends that are former members of St. Johns. Please pick up a address form at the back of the church, complete and if possible include e-mail addresses as this will save postage when we mail the invitations. Forms may be placed back in the box or dropped off at the church office. Thanks Vern and Rosann.
OUTREACH EVENT – This Outreach Resource and Training Event is an excellent opportunity for you to hear an exciting keynote speaker, participate in your choice of interesting break-out sessions, connect with ministries from across the district at the Ministry Fair, and a chance to participate in an easy hands-on community service event. Best of all +Grounded + Growing + Reaching+ is for the whole family! Special programming is included for children and teens ages 0-18. Rev. Bob Newton, President of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of the LCMS will serve as keynote speaker for the event and lead two group discussions. This event is being held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Registration and the Ministry Fair will begin at 9:00 a.m. with speakers and sessions to start at 10:00 a.m. Activities will conclude at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Peterson is heading up the event and will be leading a break-out session. If you wish to know more about this event feel free to talk to him. Cost: $15 per individual or $30 per family. Registration is due by Tuesday November 1st.

BENEFIT– A benefit was held for Gordon and Joan Wright of Lone Rock (info got to church late) on Thursday at the Chatterbox Café in Lone Rock. Thrivent Care Abounds in Communities is contributing funds and donations are still being accepted at Doocy’s Repair till December 1, 2011 or you can mail it to PO Box 16 Lone Rock, Iowa 50559
