HEARTFELT THANKS -  St. John’s Thrivent Advocates would like to thank our Thrivent members for the monies that have been designated to our church from their Thrivent choice dollars. Some of that money ($400) was used in the church to purchase t-shirts for the Vacation Bible School this year. We appreciate your support of our church in this way!

A SHORT MONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING will be held Thursday, September 22nd at 7:30 p.m.  This is a monthly meeting and Pastor Steve Turner, representing IDW will visit with the council.  “Titus Talks” is a program from the District to connect with all churches in the District to listen to the needs of congregations, to celebrate God’s grace and blessings in congregations, to strengthen the relationship between congregations and District staff and to explore mission fields in the communities of the District and to gain information for direction to the 2012 District Convention.  Please plan to attend if you are a council member.

BE A TEAM TEACHER!   - Dear fellow members of St. John’s Lutheran Church – WE NEED YOUR HELP in teaching our youth!  We are looking for a few more “TEAM TEACHERS” for our Sunday School classes for the combined 1st & 2nd grades and 3rd & 4th grades.  Last year we had 24 children in all to start our church year – THAT IS  WONDERFUL!!  Let’s work together and keep it going!  We also really need a team teacher for the 3rd & 4th grade Religion School Class. PLEASE consider TEAM teaching where this allows much needed flexibility for our busy lives today!  The teaching materials and guide books are provided – giving you the tools needed to teach God’s word.  By getting more volunteers would allow you to teach one Sunday a month.  Is this asking too much?  Won’t you PLEASE consider getting involved in teaching these young people – they are our FUTURELet’s keep our faith growing!                     Board of Education,   Mary Schmidt, Brenda Schutjer, Karla Schutter
